Poem: “He Changes the Seasons”

sunset2.jpg

He changes the seasons, He sends forth the Cold
He calls for the frost that shines like pure gold
He fashions icicles like daggers of glass
He spreads out the snow like a blanket is cast
He rules over river and mountain and sea
He changes the seasons and He’s changing me

He changes the seasons, He sends forth the Spring
He calls for the warmth to renew everything
He fashions the blossoms and bees in the hive
He spreads over death all that’s green and alive
He brings out the buds and the leaves on the tree
He changes the seasons and He’s changing me

He changes the seasons, He sends forth the Heat
He calls for the growth of the grass green and deep
He sends forth His sunshine, makes all things to grow
He spreads out a banquet His mercy to show
He fashions the plant and the fruit-bearing tree
He changes the seasons and He’s changing me

He changes the seasons, He sends forth the Fall
He calls for the harvest to feed one and all
He fashions the rain cloud, He calls for storm
He spreads on the hillside His canvass adorned
He rules over river and mountain and sea
He changes the seasons and He’s changing me

He changes the seasons, though He changes not
He changed me forever, by blood I’ve been bought
From glory to glory He’s changing me still
He gave me His Spirit, His word and His will
And one day the ultimate change I will see
When seeing Him, changelessly changed will I be
